In about the same time it takes to do one cycle of CoolSculpting we can remove 10x as much fat with our "One Hour Lipo". Using a technique called Tumescent Anesthesia, we completely numb the area we want to remove the fat from without having to put you under. Although mild sedation is available, most people choose not to have any sedation at all. You don't need it! We use the most advanced power assisted liposuction technology to quickly remove the fat without leaving lumps bumps and irregularities that are so common after traditional liposuction. The recovery is really easy. Most people are back to work in 1 to 3 days. If you want to treat multiple body parts at once including our 'Lipo 360" or "High Def Lipo" it will take longer and you will need sign up for a 2 hour or 3 hour Lipo. You can even choose to do multiple 1 hour sessions over time. The results are permanent as long as you maintain your weight. Call us today to find out why Liposuction at Omni Aesthetics is so much better that liposuction and even better and safer than some non-invasive body contouring treatments. If you would like a personal consultation, you can schedule a zoom or live consultation with Dr. Song or one of our patient coordinators. If we determine that you are not a good candidate, your consultation fee of $300 will be fully refunded and if you decide to schedule your treatment, we will apply the consultation fee towards your procedure.
Am I a good candidate?
You may have been told that you are not a good candidate for liposuction because you have too much fat or because you have too little fat. You may have medical conditions that would make it dangerous for you to go under general anesthesia. You may not have the time to take off to recover from a full liposuction. You may not have the funds to commit to a full body liposuction. These are just some of the obstacles that may have prevented you from taking care of those unwanted bulges that you just can't get rid of no matter how much you diet and exercise.
You may have considered or tried non-invasive treatments like CoolSculpting and some results but now you are looking to take it to the next level.
Our 1 Hour Lipo might be just the thing that you are looking for. It is definitely worth scheduling a consultation with us to see if you are a candidate because you may be surprised with what we can do with such a simple procedure. However, this procedure is not for everyone.
You are not a good candidate for 1 hour Lipo if:
You are morbidly obese with BMI over 40. Ideally, we want your BMI to be under 35.
You are suffering from body dysmorphic syndrome.
You have a medical condition that is not under control.
You are allergic to Lidocaine, epinephrine or sodium bicarbonate
There are other factors that are considered relative contraindication. Please contact our office for a consultation so that we can help you determine if this treatment is right for you.
Just as a rough rule of thumb, if your BMI is less than 30, we can probably treat one area with one 1 hour liposuction session. If your BMI is between 35 and 30 you will probably need two 1 hour sessions per area. if your BMI is between 35 and 40 you will need three or more 1 hour sessions per area. If your BMI is above 40, you are not a candidate for our 1 hour lipo procedure. You can check your BMI by clicking the button below. We can give you more accurate pricing when you come in for your consultation.
There are many non-invasive body contouring treatments available and we have tried just about all of them. To this date, the only one that seems to give satisfactory results is cryolipolysis with CoolSculpting. We have been performing CoolSculpting in our office since if first became available, so we have lots of experience with the treatment. It works. You can can visible reduction in localized areas of fat and the results are permanent. If you are looking for a little bit of spot reduction and look better in your clothes, CoolSculpting is a great treatment for you because there is no down time and you can do more treatments over time if you want more reduction. The down side of CoolSculpting is that the results take time to see. Usually about 6 to 8 weeks. The reduction is modest, we can remove about 20% of the fat that fits into the applicator. You will need multiple treatments in the same area to get liposuction-like results. There is a rare complication of CoolSculpting where the fat in the treated area actually gets bigger after treatment. This is call PAH or Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia. If this occurs, PAH is very difficult to treat because the fat that comes back is very hard and fibrous. The only way to treat this is with a special type of liposuction called Vaser Liposuction. We are one of a handful of practices that have experience treating PAH. Because of the risk of PAH we prefer our 1 hour Lipo.
What are the advantages of 1 Hour Lipo?
With our Power Assisted Liposuction (PAL) technique, we can remove 10 times as much fat as we can with one cycle of CoolSculpting. We have multiple CoolSculpting Machines so can do multipole cycles of Coolsculpting (up to 4 cycles at a time), but we can still do a better job with our liposuction and you can see results immediately. We can actually sculpt with PAL to create cuts and curves that are not possible with non-invasive treatments and there is no risk of PAH.
So why would anyone do CoolSculpting over Liposuction? That's a good question. First of all many people don't know about 1 hour liposuction because this is a technique Dr. Song developed over a decade of performing outpatient liposuction using just about every new device that was invented for liposuction. He adapted techniques from some of the greatest Liposuction specialists in the world and came up with a way to perform a quick, safe and very effective way to remove the fat in an out patient setting. The only disadvantage over CoolSculpting is that this is still a surgical procedure. It is minimally invasive, but it does still involve going under the skin to remove the fat. Some people just like the idea of having a procedure that is completely non-invasive even if the results are not as great. For those people, we still offer CoolSculpting and we can honestly say that our technicians get better results than anyone else in the area.
Does 1 Hour Lipo Hurt?
We use a technique call tumescent anesthesia to numb the area where we will be removing the fat. First we use a very tiny needle to numb the skin where we will make the entry port. The entry site is about 1/2 cm and this is where we will infuse the numbing solution into the fat. We make two to four entry sites to approach the fat from multiple directions. This ensures smooth results and great contouring. The Numbing solution consists of a liter of Saline solution in an IV bag with Lidocaine for numbing and epinephrine to constrict the blood vessels to minimize bleeding. Sodium bicarbonate is added to buffer the solution so that it does not burn. The solution is infused through the entry ports using a blunt cannula. A cannula is a thin metal tube with rounded end and holes in the side to infuse the numbing solution into the fat. We use a gentle vibration to distribute the numbing and to break up the fat before we start sucking. Once the numbing solution is infused, the area becomes completely numb and we can begin the sucking. We use a blunt vibrating cannula to suck your fat out. You will feel tugging pulling and pinching but you should not feel any sharp pains. This is important because you will be awake throughout the procedure. If you are anxious we can give you some laughing gas to ease your anxiety. You control the laughing gas and breath it in as you need it. We can also provide you with an oral sedative but most people don't need it because the procedure will be over before you know it! You will have some soreness after the numbing wears off. It will feel like you had a very intense workout. Most people require just Tylenol for a few days. Stronger pain meds can be prescribed, but you won't need it, really! Over the years we only had a handful of patients request opiates after the procedure. This a a good thing because who wants to risk getting addicted to pain meds?
What is the Aftercare?
Because we are doing smaller volumes than with the regular liposuction, the aftercare is much easier. Some of the entry ports will be left open for excess numbing fluid to drain out. We remove most of the fluid while we are doing the liposuction, but some of the fluid will continue to seep out over 24-48 hours. The fluid coming out is mostly the IV fluid but it will be pink or red because, as you may have experienced, even one drop of blood in the toilet can turn the whole bowl red. It's the same with the IV fluid. There will be a little bit of blood that mixes with the fluid and it makes the whole thing look red. Rest assured that you are not bleeding out. Real blood is thick and dark and would be very rare with this procedure, however, if you are not sure, you should always err on the side of caution and call us if you think you may be bleeding. There can be some bruising and swelling. Gravity tends to pull the swelling and bruising down so don't be surprised if you get a bruise and it starts to move down your body. It will even change colors as this happens. The color usually starts out purple then turns green then yellow. If you had liposuction in your abdomen, the bruising and swelling may concentrate down to your vaginal or scrotal area because this is the lowest point. Don't be alarmed.
Infection is very rare but we usually give you an antibiotic as a precaution. You would start the antibiotic the day before and continue until it is finished. A compression garment should be worn after the procedure to help mold the area and to help the skin adhere to the fascia so that you don't have loose skin hanging. We will tell you where you can get the garment. You should bring the garment with you so we can help you put it on immediately after the procedure. You will need to purchase some gauze and tape to dress the entry ports. We actually recommend maxi pads to absorb the fluid as it drains. Sometimes we will put a single suture to close the opening if it is in an area that may be visible. You can shower the next morning but do not take a bath, go in a hot tub or go swimming until we see you and confirm that the openings are closed. You will come back for a follow up visit within 1 week. We will also call you the next day to follow up. You can always call us any time, even after hours, if you have any questions or concerns.
When can I start working out?
Many of our patients are avid exercisers. There is nothing that you can really hurt by exercising, but you may be a little too sore to go back to your regular routine right away. You can walk on a treadmill and resume normal activity the next day, but you may want to wait 3-7 days before resuming intense workouts.
When will I see the results?
There will be some swelling so if you are thin to begin with, you may actually look more swollen right after the procedure, but most people will see results right away. As the swelling goes down, you will look better every day. Within 2 weeks you should see a nice improvement. Your body will continue to remodel and you can expect to see continued improvement for up to 6 months.
When can I do my next liposuction?
We recommend waiting two weeks after your liposuction before having another area done. This allows the Lidocaine to completely leave your system. You can certainly wait longer. Since the fat removal is permanent, you can even do other areas years later. If you are larger especially in the abdominal area, it may be best to do two sessions in the same area. If we take too much fat out at once, your skin may not retract enough and you may be left with saggy skin. We usually recommend waiting 6 months before repeating liposuction in the same area.
Can I end up with loose skin after the liposuction?
If excessive amount of fat is removed, especially in one session, you may be left with loose skin. This is why we don't like to do liposuction on people with a BMI over 35. We can determine during our consultation if you are at risk of having loose skin. We do offer a treatment called Renuvion® which is a device that can tighten the skin from under the skin. We would perform this treatment at the same time we do the liposuction. We will let you know if we think you need the Renuvion to tighten your skin. There is an extra charge for the Renuvion.
What is high definition liposuction?
High Def Lipo is a specialized procedure where we can actually etch the skin to let the definition of the muscles show through. We can create six pack abs with this technique. We use the Vaser ultrasound device to perform high def liposuction. This is something we can do for people who are already in great shape and want definition. There is an extra charge for the etching with Vaser. We also have Trusculpt Flex® which is a non-invasive device that helps to tone and define your muscles. This can be done after liposuction or as a stand alone treatment for people who don't need liposuction.
What happens if the treatment takes more than one hour?
We call it our 1 Hour Lipo because the actual treatment time is usually less than an hour. Unless you do it beforehand, we usually take pictures and go over the procedure again and answer last minute question. We also need time to clean you up and help you into the garment after the procedure. You will probably be here a couple of hours total. If you decide you want to do more than an hours worth of Lipo in one session, we can discuss this at the time of your consultation and we will adjust the pricing accordingly but if we quote you an hour and we end up running over (unless you request additional areas during the procedure), we will not charge you for the additional time. If you have had Coolsculpting or laser liposuction to the area, you may have developed fibrosis which makes the treatment more difficult and thus take more time. If this is the case we will discuss this with you during your consultation to give you an accurate estimate of the time required.
