What is Daxxify?
Daxxify is the newest botulinum toxin product that can last up to 6 months or more.
How is Daxxify different from Botox and Dysport?
The active ingredient of Daxxify is botulinum toxin A just like Botox, Dysport, Xeomin and Jeuveau. Unlike these other products, Daxxify uses peptides instead of albumin to bind the product. The peptides create a tighter bond with the target receptors on the nerves so that the product does not get washed away. When more product stays bound to the nerves, the effect lasts longer.
Wouldn’t doubling the dose of Botox make it last longer too?
Yes, doubling the dose of the other products will increase the duration of effect because more product will bind to the nerve. However, doubling the dose also increases the amount of product that can diffuse into surrounding areas and increase the risk of unwanted side effects such as drooping. It would also double the cost. When the same amount of active ingredient from Daxxify is compared to the other neuromodulators, it has been clinically proven to last longer without increasing the risk of side effects.
How does Daxxify compare in cost to Botox and Dysport?
Over the course of a year, Daxxify will probably cost you the same or less than your current neuromodulator. Daxxify does cost more per treatment but if you can get treated twice a year instead of three, four or six times a year, you can end up saving money in the long run.
Should I switch to Daxxify?
If you hate getting stuck with needles or if you have a very busy schedule and find it difficult to keep up with your treatments, it makes sense to switch.
If you don’t mind coming in more frequently and would prefer to divide the cost of treatment over multiple visits throughout the year, you may want to stick with the Dysport.
Omni Aesthetics no longer carries Botox, Xeomin or Jeuveau because we find these products do not last as long as Daxxify or Dysport.

My doctor does not offer Daxxify, should I switch to Omni?
If you are very satisfied with the results you are getting from your current injector, you can probably wait until it is available to all providers. If your injector doesn't always get it right and you were thinking of switching anyway, come give us a try. With a long lasting product like Daxxify, it really makes sense to have your injection done by someone who is very experienced and very well trained. This is definitely not a product you would get on Groupon!
